UB WestVic Academy of Sport

The UB WestVic Academy of Sport: Tennis Program will take on Country Victoria's best on Sunday the 25th of October at Melbourne Park.

Teams from the Gippsland Sports Academy, Sunraysia Academy of Sport, the South West Academy of Sport and the UB WestVic Academy of Sport will be bringing their strongest three strongest male and female players to compete in the Victorian Regional Academies of Sport event which is being coordinated by Tennis Victoria.  The UB WestVic Team, coached and selected by Peter Joyce will consist of:

• Lachlan King (Horsham)
• Ben Robinson (Ballarat)
• Baden Stevens (Ballarat)
• Zoe Hives (Kingston)
• Ashleigh Jolliffe (Newlyn)
• Rachel McRae (Horsham)

The format of the day will be two six game sets of doubles and one six game set of singles.  For the first time, the "no let" rule will be enforced, and this will provide a different experience for all involve.  

Peter Joyce said, "It will be a great day for all involved.  To have the opportunity to play at the venue which hosts the Australian Open, and to play against the very best junior players in Country Victoria is not an every day event".  

Results from the days events will be posted on Monday the 26th of October.
