With Carroll in Spain is Alois Rosario, the Paralympic Preparation Program (PPP) coach, and Ballarat Table Tennis Association Juniors coach.
Rosario said earlier this week, “Rory has shown a big step up in his playing ability during the tournament. With Sam he was undefeated in the doubles during the team events. He also had a narrow 3 -2 loss against Antoine Zhao from France, the bronze medallist in the singles event.”
Rosario further added, “The Strength and Conditioning program that he has undertaken has seen improvement in his mobility”.
Carroll is a member of the WestVic Academy of Sport (WVAS) Table Tennis program, and alongside his regular on court training, he receives Strength and Conditioning training, from Will Barber and Tash David.
Carroll and his WVAS squad members also receive Nutritional and Sports Psychology advice. His squad members were fortunate to have 4 time Olympian Ray Borner come and speak to them earlier last week to speak on goal setting and how their off surface training complements their performances on court.
