OVERVIEW & OBJECTIVES
What is the WVAS Horsham College Partnership?
Established in 2018, the Horsham college and WVAS have continued and developed their partnership, refining the program to give a greater variety of coaching and educational opportunities to the 10 WestVic scholarship students. The athletes selected are committed to representing their respective sport at state level and beyond. The program provides athletes with training and development opportunities that they could not otherwise access. WestVic supports athletes with wellbeing and training opportunities that complements and supports their current training program. The program runs from February to December each year and works with the schools Partnership Coordinator to deliver all services and select athletes. What is the Peak Performance Program? The peak performance program complements our WVAS partnership program. It is a 2 year program where student athletes can train three sessions a week in the Horsham College Peak Performance Training Centre. Students can be in both programs. Peak Performance students also have the opportunity to complete two VET certificates; Certificate II Sport & Recreation (Year 9) and Certificate II Sport Orientated Career Participation (Year 10).
