Ronan Keleher wins gold medal at the 2018 Oceania Taekwondo Championships Team Selection Tournament12/7/2018
Keleher,15, and studying Year 10 at Bacchus Marsh Grammar, defeated opponents from Western Australia, Victoria and Queensland on his way to claiming the Gold medal.
During his time in the nation’s capital, Keleher, fought on four separate occasions, prevailing in each bout by defeating various opponents 30-8, 31-14, 23-2 and 15-5. Keleher was a resounding winner in the final, defeating Taj Barbour from Western Australia, 31-14. FedUni WestVic Academy of Sport Executive Officer, Corey Saitta, said, “We are thrilled for Ronan. He is the latest athlete from the Westvic Academy of Sport to become a National Champion. Ronan is a committed, disciplined and skilful athlete. Despite his recent outstanding results he remains humble and unassuming and determined to continue to improve in the future”.
