From the Chairman of the Fed Uni WestVic Academy of Sport, Mr Alan Campbell:
It is with both sadness and gratitude that I announce Corey Saitta’s departure as Executive Officer (EO) of the Fed Uni WestVic Academy of Sport (WVAS), effective Friday 27 November, 2020. Since November 2017, Corey has played a pivotal role in the transformation, growth, and success of the organisation in its support of athletic endeavour, and while we will miss his leadership, we wish him well in his new senior management role with leading Ballarat based organisation, the Gull Group. We would like to thank Corey for his three years as EO. Corey’s three years of dedicated service involved many significant accomplishments, including: -Strengthening relationships that underpin our strong strategic, commercial and community partnerships with the Victorian State Government, Victorian Institute of Sport, Federation University, City of Ballarat, Bacchus Marsh Grammar, Horsham College, Holy Trinity Lutheran College Horsham and the Ballarat Sportsmen’s Club. - Development and implementation of the WVAS Strategic Plan 2018-2021. - Leading the Academy through an unparalleled growth phase in areas including: Annual turnover, athlete membership, expenditure on athlete services and supports, sponsorship, events, marketing, social media, community awareness and brand recognition. - Extending program service delivery and educational support to more than 600 student athletes. - Increased athlete member, coach and parent satisfaction levels. Over the coming weeks, we will be conducting a recruitment search to appoint an EO for the Fed Uni Westvic Academy of Sport. During this transition period, it is our priority to find the best individual to lead, while still maintaining a stable and effective sport program and organisation. Again, we cannot thank Corey enough for the professionalism, vision, commitment, and enthusiasm he has provided the Fed Uni WestVic Academy of Sport over the past 3 years. He will be greatly missed by the Board, staff and coaches, athletes, families, sponsors and our premier partners. We are hopeful and excited for the next chapter of the Fed Uni WestVic Academy of Sport, as we continue to engage with our community partners and strive to support our staff and coaches to ensure that our athlete members can continue to develop, improve and secure State and National selection in the future. If you have any questions in relation to our sport program during this transition process, please do not hesitate to contact our Administration and Operations Officer, Nick Wealands at [email protected] Sincerely, Alan Campbell Chairman Fed Uni WestVic Academy of Sport
